The film entitled Assassination of a High School President tends to be a dark comedy film directed by Brett Simon, a popular film director who was famous as a video clip and advertisement director and a lecturer of Berkeley University. The characters role-played in this film are the young actor of Rocket Science, Reece Thompson, the beautiful of The O.C, Mischa Barton, Michael Rapaport, till the superstar Bruce Willis who performed as a minor character.
Bobby Funke (Thompson), a student and a journalist in his college in New Jersey, is invited to investigate the case of the lost of SATs examination folder. Bob prefers write about the class chairperson to do the investigation unless his beautiful senior, Francesca Facchini (Barton), asked him. In short, Bobby investigates Paul Moore Patrick James Taylor), a basketball star and a council president. His investigation results the jacking-up of his popularity and is praised by the whole students, headmaster, Kirkpatrick (Willis), and Moore’s girlfriend, Francesca. It’s not only about Moore’s cunning, but also there’s a conspiracy involving council committee and its relation with the drugs commerce at the college.

Simon voiced that this film presents some elements of comedy beside its serious theme. It’s not a film of Bruce Willis indeed. He plays with limited portion and in order to boost the selling of the film. Both main characters, Thompson and Barton, were successfully perfecting their characters. While Thompson freshly and plainly performs, Barton, on the other side, is able performing her mysteriously dark character without losing her beauty. Just only this film is too simple for a film in its genre and is not supported by a great investor. It’s threatened to get direct to video unless a movie distributor buys it as Yari group was bankrupt.
